Shelley Trotter farms deer and beef on 265 hectares of the Mahurangi catchment, the fourth generation to farm there.
An environmental scientist and geographer, Shelley completed her master’s thesis on historical sedimentation rates in the Mahurangi.
Shelley is dedicated to fencing and planting the riparian margins on her farm, a job started by her father when she was a child.
Shelley has four school-aged children.
