Mahurangi Regatta 2019 lost and found

‘Up the Mahu!’ without Paddles: Brad and Gail Wynyard were amongst the smaller craft to make it ‘Up the Mahu!’ under their own steam. But where Warkworth’s Queen Street once boasted many petrol bowsers, Brad, before the return trip downriver was obliged to walk to the 1.5-kilometre round trip to the nearest one, in Whitaker Road. Meantime, thanks to one ex-Mahurangi West resident, another, current, one who was briefly up-the-creek, has already been reunited with his kayak paddle. image Jason Brown

Given that more than a thousand people attended the prize giving and dance, that almost all the evenings detritus found its way into the dozen wheelie bins provided by Mahurangi Regatta principal sponsor Teak Construction is testament to quite how sublimely civilised the evening is.
